Compguy11 Custom Modifications Announces Member Teams 1.3 As 'In Production'
December 25, 2007 - Possibly as a holiday present, Compguy11 Custom Modifications is proud to announce that the next version of their widely-used modification titled 'Member Teams' has entered the development stages. The modification will enter a short private beta towards the end of January 2008 and will then be released to the public in the beginning of February 2008. The component-based system will continue to comply with all IPS developer features. In addition, this release will attempt to push the modification forward into compliance with all of IPB's features, especially those recently developed by IPS. Small suggestions taken from users will be implemented in order to polish up the appearance of the modification and make it more usable by a larger user base.
The specific features that have been confirmed at this point are listed below with some details. Note that these may not be all the features offered. If you have any specific suggestions, please PM them to me within the next week and they will be considered. Watch this announcement topic for any updates.
Member Teams v1.3 New Features Include:
- The Removal of the Required Co-Leader Position (Feature Completed)
The position of "co-leader" within a team will be removed, and those members will become regular team members. This feature is a direct result of high demand, and although this may not be what all members want, it makes the most sense in the development of this component.
- Team Searching (Feature Completed)The ability to search teams by their name, leader, or short description.
- Team Leaders Add Team Members (Feature Completed)Team leaders will now be able to add team members manually, no longer requiring that a wanted team member have to request to join a team. This does not replace the system where members request to join teams, but offers another way to build teams. In this system, team members will receive a PM when they have been requested to join a team. They will either follow a link to accept, or ignore the PM and not join the team. This new system bypasses the "open to the public" option, finally allowing team leaders to create "closed" teams that only contain desired members.
- Team Logo Uploading (Feature Completed)Team leaders (and members with permission) will now be able to upload their logos instead of having to provide a remote link. The remote link option will still be included, and it will be an ACP option whether to allow uploads at all. Uploads will be stored in the same location that posts and PM uploads are stored.
- Various Bug Fixes, RTE Updates, Skinning Updates, etc. (Feature Completed)- Installer/Upgrader Improvements (Complete)
If you are interested in becoming a private beta tester, or have a suggestion for this version, please PM me as soon as possible.
