Compguy11 Custom Modifications Announces Plans for IPB 3.0
May 26, 2009 - As Invision Power Services, Inc. nears the completion of Invision Power Board 3.0, Compguy11 Custom Modifications has been anticipating its release with plans to continue to upgrade its most popular modification, Member Teams. Compguy11 Custom Modifications plans to begin development of the next version of Member Teams (tentatively dubbed "v2.0") once Invision Power Services releases their final product. Although it is unknown when exactly this will be, it can be expected that development will begin in the month of June. Development will continue through the months of July and August, and depending on the current workload of our developers, may be released at the end of August. It is important to note that this is simply a goal, not a guarantee. The 3.0 version of Invision Power Board is considered an entire overhaul of their software. All modifications will need to be re-written and optimized to take advantage of the new features IPS is offering.
Compguy11 Custom Modifications has been tracking and collecting feature suggestions for the next version. Among other things, an extension of the "team logo" concept, rankings for team leaders, better permission and privacy systems, and an in-depth analysis of the current logic used by certain functions within Member Teams is expected. Although other features are on the list, the exact feature list will remain confidential until it reaches the hands of beta testers. If you have a feature suggestion, please reply to this topic with it. Even if you believe you have already suggested it, please post it to ensure it makes the list. Once development has started, and the features are chosen, no new features will be added to this release.
As we conclude this press release, Compguy11 Custom Modifications wants to extend its thanks to the entire Internet community for supporting us for the past five years. It is because of your continued support, praise, and patience that we are able to develop this modification that is so crucial to the operation of many Internet forums.
